Last week, Supreme Court had given its major verdict on Aadhar validity.

According to the verdict of SC, Aadhaar is not mandatory for SIM connection, bank accounts, schools, colleges, and private organizations. After this also many people were worrying about the security of their personal information at the time of Aadhar card verification.

Therefore, the Central government is focusing more on making verification procedure of Aadhar card offline. Now, this procedure will not require the server of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) for Authentication.

Government is bringing Quick Response (QR) code and paperless Know Your Customer (KYC) scheme. Users can store it in mobile phones or laptops. So, there will be no need of sharing bio-metric details as well as the use of UIDAI server.

Government is pushing offline tools to verify the Aadhar, users do not need to share their Aadhar number for KYC procedure. Earlier it was the subject of controversy over data tracking and data misusing. This offline procedure will also fulfill the order of the Supreme Court regarding the Aadhar authentication by private companies or firms.

Users can print the QR code by downloading from UIDAI’s website. Because of this QR code and KYC, the personal information of Aadhar card users will be safe. Users have to give only their names and address.

This eKYC will be used without sharing a unique ID number, for the opening of a new bank account and SIM connections. Government is hoping that offline Aadhar KYC will be popular among people.

As Aadhar becomes the identity of the citizens. Earlier Supreme Court had instructed to the Central government that, it should pass a strong law for the protection of the Aadhar data.

Supreme Court already stated, Aadhar scheme is constitutionally valid and there is nothing in the Aadhar act which violates the Right to privacy.

This is the really good initiative taken by the government for protecting the privacy of users. As privacy of every individual should be above all, otherwise it directly violates the fundamental rights given by the Indian Constitution to every citizen of the country.
