Not a single public restroom in the MIDC area of Pimpri-Chinchwad

Pimpri: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- The industrial societies (MIDC area) in Pimpri-Chinchwad area, have been deprived of many facilities over the years. The industrialists are paying crores of rupees here, but the municipality seems inactive in terms of facilities.

No toilet has been made by the Municipal Corporation for women employees in the 76 Km area of Pimpri-Chinchwad MIDC. Recently, the World’s Toilet Day was celebrated on 19th November. So, it shows the in-activeness of the of Municipal Corporation towards the health, which presents itself as a smart city.

In the MIDC area of Pimpri-Chinchwad is divided into 22 blocks. There are over 500 small industries in every block. There are more than six thousand small companies in the area of MIDC, but still, there is no facility of toilets for women in this premises. There are also many women industrialists in the camp after all these women have to face a lot of problems in the rainy season.

Every day around 50 to 60 thousand people come and visit this camp. These visitors are not allowed to enter the toilet of the company. Various organizations, labour representatives, public representatives demanded to make available toilets and e-toilets, but no measures were taken. The cleanliness campaign has been completed for four years as it was started in 2014, But even today the Municipal administration fails in making toilets for women.

The movement will start for demands: Bhor

Abhay Bhor, president of the Forum of Small Scale Industries Association said that the condition of the toilet in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Industrial area is very serious. There are lakhs of employees come to work in the campus. There are no toilets for women on the campus, which is a very bad thing. Central Government celebrated the World Toilet Day on November 19, while many industrial complexes of Maharashtra, have a poor condition of public toilets. There will be a huge moment if toilets are not built.
