NCP Chief Sharad Pawar | IT engineer held in Pune for issuing death threats to Sharad Pawar

Pune : NCP Chief Sharad Pawar | A person has been arrested for using abusive language and threatening to kill NCP supremo Sharad Pawar on social media. The Mumbai Police Crime Branch arrested Sagar Barve (34) from Pune.

 

According to the police, Sagar Barve is an IT engineer. He was nabbed in Pune. He was produced before a local court, which remanded him in police custody. Finally, the Mumbai Police succeeded in arresting the accused. A case was registered at the Lokmanya Tilak Marg Police Station by the Crime Branch, Mumbai. Various teams were formed to investigate the matter.

 

Meanwhile, the police are interrogating the accused and trying to find out why he issued the threats. The NCP became aggressive across the State after the death threats were issued to their leader. An NCP delegation led by MP Supriya Sule met the commissioner of police, Mumbai. They demanded action against two Twitter handles, from which the threats were issued. The Mumbai Police swung into action and investigation was started immediately. The police used technical analysis to track the accused. It is suspected that Barve is a software professional and might have opened the two accounts.

 

A Facebook account, Rajkaran Maharashtrache, was opened in the name of ‘Narmadabai Patwardhan’. A threat was issued from this account stating: ‘You would meet the same fate as Dr Narendra Dabholkar’. Moreover, a Twitter handle named Saurabh Pimpalkar used abusive language against the senior politician.
