Pune Crime News | Journalist shot at in Bibvewadi; He has been attacked twice in 15 days
PUNE : Pune Crime News | A journalist was attacked twice in the last fortnight over personal enmity. Two people who were travelling on a two-wheeler fired at the journalist and tried to kill him. The journalist has been identified as Harshad Kataria. He works as a suburban reporter in a local newspaper.
According to the Swargate police, Harshad Kataria was going to his residence near Atithi hotel on the Pune-Satara Road. When he arrived at the entrance of the society, two people who were on a two-wheeler shot at Kataria. Since Katria ducked, he was not hurt and the two people disappeared.
He informed the police about the incident. The police examined the spot but did not find any shell. Fifteen days ago, Kataria was threatened by three people by putting chilli powder in his eyes.
The police said that Kataria submitted applications to the PMC office pointing out many illegal constructions and these structures were pulled down. There is also a dispute about his ancestral property. There is a possibility that the incident may be a fallout of this and the police are probing the case.
