Naxal Commander claimed, Varvara Rao Guided Naxalites

A senior commander of the Naxalite claimed that the writer and poet Varvara Rao have links with the Naxal movement. Varvara Rao is under house arrest from several days as he was accused having relations with Naxals.

Naxalite Rama Vetty claimed that Rao had played an important role in managing the urban Naxalite network.While explaining about Naxalite movement in the city, Rama said that some leaders from central committee, prominent leaders and some journalists helped Naxalites.

Also, people like Varavara Rao and some journalists have helped for developing urban network. Varva Rao also helped to get out the dead bodies of the comrades that were killed in the encounter.

According to sources, Rama Vetty has recruited many people for Naxal movement from 2007 to 2018 and also gave commander’s training to many. He had joined the Naxal movement in 1995, when he was just 16-17 years old. After that, he has been in the forest area for almost 23 years.

Rama also said that during this period, Varva Rao also guided the Naxal movement. They worked for making the organization strong. However, due to the arrest of Varva Rao and the extradition of other senior leaders, the organization has become weak.

However, Rama did not want to give more details about the plan to murder Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Pune Police arrested Varvara Rao on August 28, when it was proved that Varvara Rao is in contact with the activist Maoist organization, which is already banned by Government.

Police arrested 5 people along with Varvara Rao from various places, when Police revealed some suspicious emails in investigation. Police found the information that mails about a secret plan to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Police was following the a case, which was registered in Vishrambag police station after the inflammatory speech at the Elgar Parishad held in Shaniwarwada on December 31, 2017. While investigating this, it was revealed that Maoist organizations had provided money to the Elgar Parishad.

On August 28, Police arrested poet Varvara Rao from Hyderabad, Editorial adviser of Economic and Political Weekly Gautam Navlakha from Delhi, Human Rights Activist Sudha Bharadwaj from Faridabad and Vernon Gonsalves from Mumbai and  Arun Farera from Thane.

After this, the Supreme Court had ordered to kept these five persons under house arrest when criticism started taking place across the country.
