Pune: Family Secures Rs 1.4 Crore Settlement in Accidental Death Case of Youngman


Pune: In the case of the accidental death of a young man, the court has ordered the insurance company to pay a compensation of Rs 1 crore and 40 lakh rupees to the family of the deceased man. This claim by the family of a deceased youth against Tata AIG General Insurance Company was settled within 14 months after successful intervention by the mediator.

The name of the deceased individual was Parag Vijay Kulkarni. According to the information, on January 10, 2023, Parag was travelling on his bike from the Bibvewadi area. At that time, the truck coming from the front side hit Parag’s two-wheeler, and Parag unfortunately died in this collision.

After that, a case was registered against the truck driver at the Bibvewadi police station in this regard. After investigating the matter, the police filed a charge sheet with the court.

In this case, Parag’s wife Snehal and his father Vijay filed a compensation claim against Tata AIG General Insurance Company in the Motor Accident Tribunal. Parag was working in a reputed company. He had a salary of 75 thousand rupees per month. His wife, daughter, and father depended on him. Therefore, a compensation of Rs. 1.5 crore was demanded through the claim by Parag’s family.

The matter was heard in the court of District Judge J.G. Dorle. The claim was then referred to Advocate Atul Gunjal for mediation. After that, a successful compromise was reached between the applicant and the insurance company, after which it was decided to pay a compensation of Rs 1 crore and 40 lakh rupees to the family of deceased Parag Kulkarni.
