Mulshi Tehsildar arrested for taking Rs 1 crore bribe

Pune : Npnews Newtwork –The Tehsildar of Mulshi taluka was arrested on Saturday by the Pune unit of the state anti-corruption bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs one crore.

The Tehsildar has been identified as Sachin Mahadev Dongare (43), a resident of Bavdhan. An FIR is being registered against him for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

According to ACB, a 63-year-old man had filed complaint with Mantralaya in Mumbai, for addition of his name in records of ancestral land. The file was sent to the Tehsildar for investigation.

Between December 14 and 19, the accused allegedly demanded Rs one crore bribe to give report in the complainant’s favor and also help in getting 7/12 land extracts with his name in the records.

After getting complaint, ACB laid a trap and caught Dongare while accepting the bribe money on Lavasa road near Urawade village. Police had used Rs 15 lakhs in real currencies while remaining ‘notes’ were just blank papers.

Superintendent of Police (ACB) Sandip Diwan, DySP Suhas Nadgouda supervised the team. Police inspector Surekha Gharge is further investigating the case.
