Man who was addicted to sniffing his ‘smelly socks’ admitted to hospital

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Various people have various kind of addictions, be it alcohol, be it cigarettes or drugs but have you ever come across people addicted to ‘smelly socks’? This man’s addiction to it proved toxic to his life.

A man from China has been admitted to hospital for sniffing his smelly socks every day after his work which caused him a severe fungal infection inside lungs.

Surprising, the man used to take off his ‘smelly socks’ after work regularly and used to sniff it. Not just for a second, but for several minutes. The man is a resident of Zhangzhou in South China’s Fujian province and has now been rushed to hospital.

According to the doctors, he has been affected by a serious lung infection which was caused by a fungus developed from his footwear. Since, he used to smell his socks which had infection in it, the infection get spread to his lungs.

Gradually the man started facing health issues and went to the doctor, on which he was told an x-ray test, after conducting the test the infection came into light and he opted for treatment immediately.

Such addictions are still less heard of unlike others while foot infections are becoming more common with time. Fungal infections also are caused due to Diabetes.

While the man is still undergoing treatment in hospital, he might be questioned after which.

Earlier, a 21-year-old girl hailing from US had told about the ‘sock daddy’ with whom she came across and was ready to pay her a large amount for money for her sweaty socks.

This weird addiction is not  usually heard of but people must be more aware of it as such addictions might prove fatal.
