Farmers have started protesting against such crisis and are demanding for relief to the government. On Tuesday, farmers in Maaval, Pune came out on streets for the protests and demanded the Maaval area of Pune be declared as drought affected by the government. Farmers not only came out on the streets but also agitated against the government and threw slogans.

Notably, farming of crops in Maaval is done on a large scale for which it requires plenty of water. And, this year the rainfall in Maharashtra was less and did not fulfill the expectations due to which a lot of crops in the farms have burnt. The season and heat of the sun has started creating problems in the lives of farmers and has started raising question marks on their daily bread and butter.

Demands of  farmers:

1. The allegations made by the farmers are that the government has put on a blindfold on their eyes and despite witnessing their condition the crisis remains inattentive which is why they were forced to protest in the Vadgaon Maaval area of Pune.

2. The farmers are demanding for help and relief from the government and won’t stop agitation until their demands are met.

  1. Also, they are demanding for the completion of the bridge in Kamshet city and that their 7/12 document should be cleared soon.
