Maharashtra DGP wins heart by touching feet of constable’s father

Shirdi –Whatever be the perception of police in the society, but even today, there are honest, conscientious and down to earth officials in the police department. The sight of which was seen in Shirdi on Friday.

Director General of Police Datta Padsalgikar took time out from his busy schedule and went to his driver’s house to visit his family. Not only this, he also took blessings from the driver’s elderly father. It is being said that he is the first Director General, to visit the family of a constable working under him.

Officer means commander who gives order. But there are some officers whose deeds forces one to think they are different. Datta Padsalgikar, the DGP of the state, is such person. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Shirdi, so the police security system was deployed. Padsalgikar also came to Shirdi on Friday. But he took time out from the bandobast duty and went to the village of driver Raju Ghuge.

The Director General spent some time with Ghuge’s family. On arrival of the senior officer in the village, the villagers welcomed him by gifting him Feta (turban). Accepting the respect of the villagers, the Director General expressed gratitude to the villagers. Raju Ghuge’s father also honored him. After the honor, Pandsalgikar took blessings by bowing to the elderly.

This act of the senior most IPS officer in the state has won the heart and respect of the constables which the form the backbone of the two lakhs strong police force.
