Maharashtra CM meets PMO to discuss Maratha Quota Reservation

While the state-wide atmosphere became tensed on the Maratha reservation issue, now the matter is put in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. This meeting is being considered extremely important. Meeting of MPs of Maharashtra is going to held in Delhi on August 6.

As the Maratha Quota Reservation issue turns violent, government is forced to take action against it.  An important meeting is going to held in New Delhi in evening of August 6 under the leadership of BJP President Amit Shah. Chief Minister Fadnavis has also reached Delhi for the meeting. For the demand of Maratha reservation, agitators have warned to carry out state-wide protest if they will not get comment on their demands from government. A short time ago, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On Sunday August 5, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had appealed to the government through Marathi channel. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the decision, to complete the statutory proceeding of Maratha reservation till November, mega recruitment will be done for the benefit of everyone.

Democracy has given many ways to protest, there is no place for violence in it. Chief Minister Fadnavis has appealed to not commit suicide saying that it is unbearable. Government is ready to give Maratha but we are trying our best to maintain the judicial side in the Supreme Court. The State Backward Commission has demanded that the Maratha Reservation report be given as early as possible. The Chief Minister assured that the special session will be convened promptly after the report is received.

Amidst the violent protests as part of the Maratha quota stir in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday, August 5 claimed that all statutory requirements for reservation will be completed by the end of November.

Discussing the steps that the state government has taken to tackle the situation, Fadnavis said that all constitutional obligations in connection with the granting of reservations to the Maratha community in the state would be completed by November this year.
