India in a commanding position as it ends day 3 with lead by 166 runs with 7 wickets in hand

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE –  With Australia 3 wickets left on the start of the 3rd day in the first innings Indian fast bowling ran through the tale and concluded the innings at 235, which gave India 15 runs led. Indian fast bowling today relied on 2 fast bowlers Shami and Bumrah and they both bowled well.

Then came the Indian batting just when the batters and umpires were taking the field, it started drizzling and the covers were called by the umpires. It took more than an hour to restart the game. Murli Vijay and K L Rahul unlike the first innings tried to play calmly and did not hurry into making runs.

Both the Indian openers took their time and were literally leaving every ball outside off for almost 10 years. Then K L Rahul started hitting some shots and India’s scoreboard moved a bit. Murli Vijay stayed on the crease for 60 deliveries in which he made 18 odd runs, but his contribution to writing of the opening firry spell of Australian Trio was really vital.

The first innings superstar of India Cheteshwar Pujara is also playing a match-winning knock in the 2nd innings as well. He is still on the crease on 44 runs. Virat Kohli was also looking nice on 34 of 104 deliveries.  But Lion was using the rough patch created by fast bowlers run up, outside off to a great effect he was, again and again, putting the ball in the rough and finally Virat nicked into short leg where Finch took an easy catch.

At this time anyone would like to sit in India’s boat as India has 150 plus led in its pocket and has 7 wickets in hand which mean even if India lose wickets and managed to put 250 plus score it will be difficult for this weak Australian batsmen to chase the score of 250. If India with the likes of Pujara and Rahane on the crease manages to put 350 plus news then it will be a game for India.
