Heavy rains in Marathwada and Vidarbha

Heavy rains have become common in every part of the state. The rivers are flooded mainly in Vidarbha and Marathwada areas, and because of this heavy rain, the crops have gone under water. There is a continuous rainfall in central Maharashtra and Konkan areas. Due to the release of water from many dams, there is a warning alert imposed on the villages which are situated near rivers.

Heavy rains are being witnessed in areas of Solapur, Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli districts of western Maharashtra. Water is being released from the dams of Koyna, Dhom, Kanher, Balkawadi, and Urmodi in Satara. Due to the release of water from the Koyna dam, the water level of the Krishna river has increased. Most of the dams in Kolhapur and Pune districts have been filled with water. Bhandara and Niland dam is full as heavy showers of rain is going on in the western parts of Akola Taluka, in Nagar district.

Huge losses in Vidarbha area

Rainfall is continuously going on in Amravati since Monday night, because of which rivers and streams have overflowed. 15 houses in Jawahar Nagar Kodi village are submerged in water. Bhandara taluka, due to continuous raining for 24 hours. These fifteen families have left their residences and shifted to other places.

Heavy rains in Nanded district

Also, some districts of Marathwada including Aurangabad, Beed, Nanded, Parbhani, Hingoli, and Jalna are troubled due to heavy rains. Whereas in some districts the network connectivity in the villages has broken due to the flooded state in Kerala. Crops have gone under water due to heavy rains in Aunda Nagnath Taluka of Hingoli district.

The rainfall will decrease from Wednesday

According to the reports, Rainfall will decrease in the remaining areas of the state except for Kokan and Goa in the next 24 hours. Due to the low-pressure strips created in the Bay of Bengal,  continuous rainfall in Central India is witnessed. But, the impact of these low-pressure strips is reduced a little bit. Therefore, there are signs of rain deficiency in Marathwada and Vidarbha in the near future.
