Pune: Senior Citizen Fell Victim to Fake Share Market Scam by Conman; Lost 11 Lakh

Pune: By offering significant returns on the investment in the share market, a young conman duped a senior lady doctor to 11 lakh rupees. This incident took place between October 2022 and April 2023 at Jeevan Jyot Clinic in Datta Mandir Chowk, Vimannagar area.

In this regard, a 70-year-old female doctor filed a complaint at the Viman Nagar Police Station on Tuesday. After taking the money, the accused fled from his residential address, and now Viman Nagar police are tracking him in connection with this case.

The accused has been identified as Amit Suresh Bhavekar. Bhavnekar is a resident of Katraj Kondhwa Road, Gokulnagar, Pune. According to the police information, Bhavnekar initially gained the trust of the plaintiff by assuring her of good returns on investments in the stock market.

Believing him, the plaintiff gave him 11 lakh rupees to invest in the stock market. However, after taking the money, the accused absconded from his house. After that, the plaintiff tried to contact him, but she was not able to reach him.

After realising that she had been cheated, the plaintiff immediately filed a police complaint against the accused at Viman Nagar police station. Accordingly, Viman Nagar police booked the accused under IPC 406 and 420 and started further investigation into the case. Police Sub-Inspector Dhaware is conducting further investigations into the case.
