Earthquake hits Maharashtra

Npnew24 online Satara: Two low-intensity earthquake hit Satara district in Maharashtra on Thursday morning. The intensity of the earthquake was 4.8 and 3 sad the officials. People rushed out of their homes after experiencing quivering said an official in district administration. He also informed, So far no causality and damage have been reported in the area.

The first quake occurred around 7:47 minutes and the one was experienced at 8:27 minutes both in the morning. Both the quakes occurred it Satara district which is located 120km from Pune. Informed an official at the India Meteorological Department (IMD). He also said ‘the epicenter of both the quakes were recorded at depth of 10 km and 5 km respectively.

“People should not panic as both the earthquake were of low intensity” said Arun Bapat a Pune based seismologist.
