Drunkard discuss murder of Defence Minister; Lands in Jail

Cyber-crime has been prevailing in the society since long and is making the job of the police to keep a watch on all these activities difficult. But, in an amusing incident, police played smart in catching two drunkard planning of defense minister’s murder!

This incident took place in Uttarakhand in which two people chatting on a WhatsApp group discussing murdering Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman was arrested by the Uttarakhand Police.

According to police, the youth were chatting on their WhatsApp group amongst themselves, the message read, ‘I will shoot Sitharaman Tomorrow’, ‘Tomorrow will be the last day of Sitharaman’.

As soon as police got information about such discussion on a WhatsApp group, the two drunkards were arrested by police immediately.Police are yet to ascertain the reason behind this incident for which they are probing into the case for further information.

Police are investigating whether they were drunk during the conversation or they had some other intention behind it. Police will take further actions, considering the seriousness of the matter.

Also, they are probing whether they had the criminal background, had purchased any weapons in the past, are they in contact with any criminal organization etc or not. Police are tracing out other names involved in it and searching more on profiles of other members of the group.

How is social media being misused?

Nowadays, Social media has reached almost every individual of society, but we have witnessed earlier incidences of mob killing in Durai, Maharashtra which took place due to the spreading of rumors on ‘WhatsApp’. Such crimes are prevailing in the society with time.

Criminals are adopting new technologies for committing such criminal activities. It is a challenging task for police to catch hold of such criminals. But, alertness shown in such crimes can prevent occurring of these incidents.
