Death row of two convict in Pune BPO murder case turned into life imprisonment

NPnews24 Online, Mumbai: Purushottam Borate (38) and Pradeep Kokade (32) both Convicts in a Pune BPO employee’s gang-rape and murder case scheduled to be executed on June 24, delayed and Bombay High court stayed their execution after hearing claimed of ‘inordinate delay’.

‘Inordinate delay’ leads to violation of fundamental rights and urged high court to commute their death sentence to life imprisonment.

Borate ad Kokade were sentenced to death from raping and murdering a 22-year-old woman employee of a BPO company in Pune. Bombay high court confirmed the death sentence in September 2012. Also governor rejected their mercy petitions in April 2016 and by President 2017.

And finally High court come up with the order and death sentence row converted to life imprisonment.
