Another jolt for Shiv Sena: Shinde faction stakes claim to Sena Bhavan and funds of party

The Shinde group has staked a claim to the party’s funds and a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court. (Maharashtra Politics Crisis)
The petition states that Shiv Sena Bhavan, all branches and funds in all banks should be handed over to the Shiv Sena led by CM Eknath Shinde. The petition has been filed in the Supreme court through Mumbai-based lawyer Ashish Giri.
The Election Commission of India had allotted the party’s symbol and party’s name to the Shinde faction. Hence, the Shinde group has been recognised as the official Shiv Sena.
However, the order issued by the CEC does not clarify about party’s funds. Hence, Advocate Ashish Giri has filed a petition in the Supreme Court. It states that the movable and non movable assets of Shiv Sena led by Balasaheb Thackeray should be handed over to the Shinde faction.
