ACB arrests PWD executive engineer at Wardha while accepting bribe of ₹1 lakh; ₹6.40 lakh also found at his residence
WARDHA : NpNews24 Online – ACB Arrest PWD Executive Engineer | The ACB team arrested an executive engineer of PWD for accepting a bribe of ₹1lakh at his official residence for clearing a bill of ₹50 lakh. The accused has been identified as Prakash Narayandas Bub (57), Executive Engineer, PWD, Wardha. The complainant had received money for three of his bills as per the government agreement regarding tree plantation. For the fourth bill of ₹50 lakh, Prakash Bub harassed the complainant. Bub demanded five per cent of the bill i.e. ₹1 lakh to clear the bill.
Since the complainant did not want to pay a bribe, he lodged a complaint with the ACB. On Thursday, Prakash Bub accepted a bribe of ₹1 lakh at his official residence in the presence of panches from the complainant. At that time, he was arrested red handed by the ACB. Apart from this amount, ₹6.40 lakh was also found. The team of ACB videographed the seizure of the money. An FIR has been registered at the Wardha city police station against Prakash Bub.
The action was taken by a team of police officials including DySP DC Khanderao, API Ravindra Bavner, police constable Santosh Bavankule, Prashant Vaidya, policemen Pradip Kuchankar, Pritam Ingle and Prashant Manmode under the guidance of Nagpur ACB SP Rahul Maknikar and Addl SP Madhukar Gite.
