A green vine snake was found travelling with the passengers in Titwala CSMT local train which is from Mumbai. As soon as the train halted in the Thane station, a passenger detected a green semi-venomous snake twined over a fan in the train around 11:30 a.m.
The train was immediately stopped by the passengers which caused the other locals to stop too, delaying the running status of the trains.
According to the information, a passenger travelling in the coach of the local train found the snake twined around a fan, while he was reaching to switch off the fan. The passengers were baffled to see such snake travelling with them. Some were also afraid.
The snake reportedly is a green venomous snake. The name is the snake is Harantol. Such snakes are called tree-dwelling snakes. In the meanwhile, a passenger courageous enough took the initiative and was successful in throwing the snake out of the train on the railway track with the help of a stick.
The train waited at the station for a long time which also caused the other trains to get delayed. The Harantol was found to be harmless. Due to this, there was no harm done to the passengers. The passengers requested to immediately start the locals which were stopped temporarily.
Where did the snake come from? Although it was not welcomed very warmly, how did it find its way to a local train from the Western Ghats, Such snakes are said to be usually harmless and not that venomous. Such snakes are usually found in the rainforests of India.
