5 New Feature of WhatsApp, Which you might not like

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – WhatsApp, world’s biggest social networking and messaging app is making new changes to the application. These changes will make you use WhatsApp in all new way. The app has been testing several new features lately.

I remember there was a time when WhatsApp introduced Photo and Video status replacing the written status which created huge outburst amongst user where initially people did not like the concept but over the time they have grown out.

Some of the highlight feature are consecutive voice messages, picture-in-picture mode, private reply, dark mode and QR codes.

WhatsApp Beta is also available to get early access to the latest features in testing. However, WhatsApp beta is known for having bugs and crashes, so be aware of what you’re getting into.

So let us look deeply into these features

  1. Consecutive Voice Messages

WhatsApp will automatically A-line and play your voice messages one after the other in the next update. This feature was first spotted on ios but is likely to come for Android as well.

  1. Dark Mode

Dark mode, just like every other tech platform out there, WhatsApp is planning to bring out a dark mode for night-time viewing. A website revealed that the dark mode is currently under development. It might sound pointless, but it’s been claimed that the function could save battery life of your devices. This feature turns the window white to black. On the other side, Facebook is also going to introduce its own dark mode to Facebook Messenger.

  1. Group Call Shortcut

Since the group video and audio calling feature was introduced on WhatsApp, the only way to make group calls has been by calling a user first and then tapping on the group calling button on the call screen in the top right corner.

WhatsApp will soon change this behaviour by introducing a standalone button for making group calls, but only in group chats. Simply tap on the button, select the friends you wish to call and then select if it will be voice or video call. This feature also showed up only in the iOS beta version of the app.

  1. Video Preview in the Notification Bar

Now videos will play automatically in the push notification bar. You need not to open the app to see the video. You can see it on notification bar. However, the releasing time of the feature is not yet fixed, as it is under development. Such option are already available for images and GIFs.
  2. Status Advert

Not every WhatsApp update is necessarily be good. Another update being primed for the service is called ‘status ads’, which will appear between status updates. The Status tab is effectively a version of Snapchat’s Stories where users can post videos, images or GIFs that disappear after 24 hours.
