A 39-year-old woman has lodged a complaint (85/23) at the Bibvewadi police station. Accordingly, the police have registered an FIR against Shashikant Vasant Lonkar (56), a resident of Katraj, Sushil Vasant Lonkar, a resident of Swargate police line, Uttam Shelke, a resident of Sinhagad Road and three women.

According to the police, the complainant has a friend and they used to stay in the same society. Her friend told her that her married life was in shambles and she was facing serious problems. She told the victim that she needed ₹50 to ₹60 lakh. She told the victim to take a loan and promised to pay the instalment on time. The victim told her that she may not get a loan of such a big amount.

However, Kalyani told her that Uttam Shelke was a selling agent of nationalised banks. Uttam Shelke took the victim’s documents and took loans from many banks i.e. ₹80 lakh on the victim’s behalf. The victim’s friend repaid ₹48 lakh but since she did not pay the instalments, they remained pending. When the complainant asked for the remaining amount of money, she was threatened. The complainant’s friend told her that her uncle Sushil Lonkar is stationed at the Samarth police station and she will complain about her.

When the complainant contacted Sushil Lonkar, he told her to forget about her money. He told her that she could take legal action. The complainant went to her friend’s parents’ house. They assaulted her and her father told her that his brother Sushil Lonkar is a police official at the Samarth police station and he will take action against her. Their daughter also threatened the complainant.

Since the police refused to register her complaint, she approached the court. As per court’s order, an FIR has been registered. PI Anita Hiwarkar is probing the case.
