Therefore, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) is an attempt to change the mechanism of transferring subsidies, launched by Government of India on January 1, 2013. This program aims to transfer subsidies directly to the people through their bank accounts.

Their demands include, cancelation of DBT passed on April 5, 2018. And start the hostel mess immediately. Also, give offline admission for this student. It helps those students who are not computer literate.

But now it seems that this policy of the government is not working properly. The students claim that their demands are not fulfilled during the past two months. The food and water supplies are not provided properly. From last 4-5 months, they have been demanding to cancel DBT but the government is in no mood to take the demands seriously.

On July 6, 2017, the Supreme Court (SC) order that, file the case against fake tribal students. But, still no action has been taken and the fake tribal students take advantage of all the benefits. This tribal student is also demanding for a new building in the central zone. So to connect with the main part of the cities.

This protest started in 29 different places, Pune, Nashik, Shahapur, Pusad, Nanded, Ghodegaon etc. The protestors tried to shake off the departments, District offices, and other government offices. The protest was initiated by the Adivasi mula-mulinche Shaskiya Vasatigruh, Pune.

Still, the government is not taking the issue seriously, In Ghodegaon when the protesters reached the government office for demanding their rights. There was a lot of police officers protecting the building. But this protecting seemed to be just a hoax to scare the protesters, as it was later revealed that the project officer Ayush Prasad has already shut down the office and went home. The protesters also tried to contact the officials but they were unsuccessful in their attempt.
