Step father arrested for molesting minor girl, mother held for abetment

An 11-year-old girl was allegedly molested for three months by her step father. When she complained to her mother, she did not stop her husband and the girl’s ordeal continued.

The incident took place between March and May this year in Mangalwar Peth. The accused used to take her in lap and kiss her forcefully and also molested her. Her trauma went on for three months as her mother did not rescue her.

Now an FIR has been registered against the 41-year-old woman and 40-year-old man. Pune city police’s Samarth police station has charged them for offences under sections 354 (outraging modesty of woman), 109 (punishment for abutment), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. A 46-year-old woman from Sangvi has lodged the complaint against them.
