About 357 people have died in Kerala flood and lakhs have been relocated to relief camps. The condition of the state is disastrous. The rain has broken all the records of the last 100 years. A red alert has been withdrawn from all districts of Kerala on Sunday, because of gradual decrease in rainfall. Prime Minister Modi held a meeting with Kerala CM and other Ministers to know about the current situation of flood and affected people.

Various organizations are coming forward from Pune to help rebuild lives of the flood-affected people, like Malayalee council Pune, Divine Cause, Naivedyam Restaurant and R- club charity store.

P.C. Nambiyar, the chairman of Malayalee Council Pune said, “The people who are already relocated to the relief camp, are not getting basic facilities like drinking water, food and clothes. So we are helping them with the help of donors. Government is also helping the flood-affected people, but it is not sufficient, so we are trying to contribute a little effort from our side. There is nothing like serving people, it gives me inner peace. We request those individuals and institutions to send Kerala flood disaster fund to World Malayalee council Pune Province. He further added that “We have also arranged a collection Centre for goods and materials at BRC compound Transport Nagar Nigadi Pune 411044.”

On another side, Divine Cause, Naivedyam Restaurant, and R- club charity store came together for helping and running a campaign-“Pune for Kerala”. There were three collection centers in the city for collecting donated materials. Raje Shetti, chairman of Naivedyam restaurant said, “We run a campaign in the name of ‘Pune for Kerela’ through which firstly we have collected some materials like- clothes, grains, water bottle boxes, Glucon-d and fruits for flood-affected relocated people. We have three collection centers in Pune city. We also use social media to spread our message to the donators.”

26 doctors from Pune’s Sassoon hospital have left for Kerela flood relief to provide medical help to flood-affected people. Many celebrities including social media groups are standing with Kerela state which is facing the toughest period now.

Celebrities involve Priya Prakash Varrier, Dulquer Salman, Roshan Abdul Rahoof, Mohanlal. In a recent video, Priya Prakash has been seen asking her fans to help Kerela which is seen in a video which has gone viral. The wink girl has been trolled by the audiences calling the video a melodramatic one. Not only this, youth social media groups including the All India Bakchod (AIB), which has the most craze of the youth, has been uploading stories appealing to their fans to donate to the needy in the flood-affected areas of Kerela.

Several organizations have started collecting stuff for the people stuck in the crisis of Kerela. Special campaigns and hashtags are being run online to help the people like #standwithKerela, #doforKerela, etc.
