Some students studying in standard XI had gone to the school by wearing some other canvas shoes. They were stopped at the gate and since they were not wearing shoes recommended by school authorities, they were sent home.

Angry parents said that they had purchased new uniforms by spending Rs 6,500 and they could have purchased new shoes by paying Rs 500. However, the shoes were not available in the shop recommended by the school.

The parents said it was uncertain that schools will remain open for how long and alleged that the school is eying the commission it gets from the sale of shoes and it should give importance to studies.
