Rahul Karad, unhappy with students agitation on Fergusson College puja

A press meet was held by the authorities of Pune based MIT World Peace University to announce about World Parliament 2018, to be organized by MIT which is going to focus on three main pillars of harmony which are science, religion, and philosophy.

This four-day conclave will be organized by MIT in its Rajbaug campus at Loni Kalbhor area. The conclave is said to commence on the 150th birthday of Late Mahatma Gandhi which is on October 2 and will end on October 5.

This event will consist of the total of 9 sessions in which various international and national speakers will be addressing the students. Various speakers from Russia, Canada U.S.A, Japan, Thailand, and UAE. The event will also have the presence of the total of 10 delegates from Europe and also the delegation from a minister of Afghanistan.

Theme and Purpose of Conclave:
• The conclave primarily focuses on Swami Vivekanand’s words while addressing the Americans in Chicago, which are, “Union of Science and Religion alone will bring harmony and peace to the humanity.” A discussion on how the combination of such three can bring a change in the society and bring peace.
• Youth-centric: This event will target the youth and speakers will discuss with the youth about the negative elements, wars or conflicts can be eliminated from the society. How can believing in science can contribute greatly to the welfare of the nation.
• Focus on giving value based education to the students.

In a press meet to address such event, Rahul Karad, Executive Director of MIT University while talking to a media correspondent shared his views on the protests by students council on FC college holding Satyanarayan Puja in which he said that such Puja is being held in the campus every year and the students protesting it this year was not something he would appreciate. He tried to clear his point regarding secularism and religious equality be it Hindus, Muslims or for that matter any other religion.

A few days back, students council of FC College, Pune had protested against the Satyanarayan Puja being held in the campus saying that it is an educational Institute and not a religious place.

Addressing the press Rahul Karad said, “Getting a degree is not just important but how to use the degree for the welfare of society should be focused on. The aim of this four-day conclave is to change the young minds through education. 3000 or more delegates are registered for the four-day conclave. The registrations are being done online on website: www.worldparliament2018.com and is done on first come, first serve basis.”

Famous speakers from all over the world will be a part of the World Parliament. And, the dignitaries of MIT also informed the press that 50-100 buses from Deccan and other places have been arranged for the transportation of delegates which is free of cost including food and also, and special guest houses for speakers have been arranged.
