Punekars participate in Wisdom tree plantation ceremony

Considering the auspicious month of Shravan and the importance of plantation, such drive was organized in Pune city. The saplings were grown from original tree at Alandi known as ‘Ajan Vriksha’ were planted in Saras Baug Siddhi Vinayak Temple campus, on August 28, from 07:45 am onwards till 9 am in the morning.

This unique programme was organized by the Biosphere, environment forum and Indian Workers Union. This was a very important event considering the ecological and spiritual significance. As it is the need of time to plant more and more tree.

In the beginning, the program was started by worshiping‘Ajan Vriksha’ and ‘Krishna-Tulsi’ saplings in Siddhivinayak Temple. After that, the rally of these planted saplings were carried around the temple by singing Bhajans. There were green boards with many environmental messages written on hands of people which was a special attraction of this rally. These wisdom trees were planted in Siddhi Vinayak Temple premises.

The green boards which give more knowledge about Ajan Vriksh, written by Dr. Sachin Punker were released by the hands of dignitaries. Then dignitaries distributed the saplings of ‘Krishna- Tulas’ and ‘Bel’, which were made available by Raghunath Dhole.

Mr. Balasaheb Fadnavis-senior social activist, Mr. Ashok Giri who is the Head of Department of Biochemistry at National Chemical Laboratory Pune, Mrs. S. N. Deshpande- member of the Central Working Committee of Indian labour union, Mr. Chandrakant Dhumal- area President of Indian labour union, Local corporator Mrs. Smitatai Vaste, Mrs Saraswati Shendge, Corporator Dheeraj Ghate, Dr. Sachin Punekar- founder president of biosphere, Indian labour union’s secretary general Mr. Ravindra Deshpande, Environment Forum’s Mr. Deepak Kulkarni, Inviter Mr. Praful Moharanrao Gavandi, Pune Municipal Corporation Officer of Garden Department -Mr. Sarjerao Kale, member of Saras baag’s exercise team Mr. Sanjay Naik was present for this program.

For this program ecological researcher, people’s representatives, officers, biospheres, environment forum, Indian labor union’s members, the activists of Devdeveshwar Pratishthan, members of the Saras bag exercise team, were present in large numbers. Department of the garden, Pune, Municipal corporation and Devdeveshwar Pratishthan has mainly contributed for this program. Proposal for the event Dr. Sachin Punekar did anchoring for this event and vote of thanks was given by Mr. Deepak Kulkarni and program ended by singing ‘Pasaydan’ by all.

The objective behind this ecological and spiritual program was to create environmental awareness and to give the social message.
