Pune – Two Iraqi refugees arrested for stealing vehicles

Pune : Np News Network- The Pune police crime branch have arrested a Iraq national for stealing five vehicles from Kondhwa and other parts of the city. The police have booked his accomplice also from Iraq for jointly stealing the vehicles for getting a fast buck.

Crime Branch officials were patrolling in Yerwada on February 27, when Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Abdul Karim Sayyed and head constable Ganesh Salunkhe received information about a man riding stolen bike in Kondhwa. Accordingly a team led by Police Inspector Anjum Bagwan laid a trap and nabbed Akram Albdeari Faij Albdeari (20) of Aurangabad, who currently lived in Kondhwa. Investigation revealed that he is from Iraq and has been living in India for the last 12 years as refugee. He has identity card of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

During further investigation, police arrested his accomplice Aaus Alhendi (33) from Delhi, who also lived in Kondhwa.

Police have seized three Activa and one Pulsar bike, totally worth Rs two lakhs from his their possession.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Pradip Deshpande, DCP (crime) Shirish Sardeshpande, ACP (crime 2) Bhanupratap Barge supervised the investigation team which included Inspector Bagwan, API Ganesh Pawar, Ashwini Jagtap, and policemen Bhalchandra Borkar, Ramesh Sable, Sachin Dhawle, Ganesh Kale, Atul Menge, Ramesh Rathod, Shital Shinde and Hanumant Borate.
