Pune Smart City continues with its Citizen Engagement Program campaign

PUNE: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Pune Smart City continues with its Citizen Engagement Program campaign in Housing Societies to build awareness regarding the mission, PSCDCL organized citizen engagement awareness campaign in four housing societies for the smart city projects under Pune Smart City Mission. The initiative that was recently conducted in Clarion Park, Kumar Padmalay, Yuthika Apartments, Devi Orchid saw massive response right from children to senior citizens.

Local resident of Devi Orchid Society Mr. Prabahkar Rekhade said, “We get an opportunity to participate in the Pune Smart City Mission directly or indirectly through this initiative.” Similarly Mrs. Sudeshana Bhattacharya of Kumar Padmalaya society told that she got to know newly about many different projects of Smart City because of the Citizens Engagement program.

However, various suggestions will be considered for implementing new concepts. Various schemes in Area Based Development under the Pune Smart City Mission are being implemented in Aundh, Baner, and Balewadi.

Concepts and ideas along with implementation of the Smart City projects and related works are explained to citizens residing in these housing societies through this initiative. Also, suggestions from citizens is being taken to further consider in planning and implementation of these projects. Thus, citizens will directly participate in the development work of smart city, so that inclusive development of the city takes place.

Chief Executive Officer of Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited Dr. Rajendra Jagtap said, “This innovative citizen engagement program shall certainly complement the Smart City projects. We have based our foundation on citizen engagement initiative by listening to the voice of citizens and ensure that this is continued through these initiatives by reaching out to the grassroot level for suggestion and feedback. This initiative is also useful at all levels of citizens for creating awareness about ongoing and upcoming projects.”

Undertaken to discuss different concepts of development with the citizens, this initiative was started with the idea of Chief Executive Officer of PSCDCL, Dr. Rajendra Jagtap. The Citizens Engagement program is being implemented in many societies in Aundh, Baner, Balewadi (ABB) area. This phase of Citizens Engagement campaign was started recently in Sayali Garden Society and Harsh Vihar-B Society in Aundh, that is now being carried out in many societies at larger level.
