Pune Police News | Pune City Police Launches Nirbhay Vidhyarthi Abhiyan for Student Safety

Pune : Pune Police News | In an effort to enhance the safety of students and citizens in Pune city, the Pune City Police, in collaboration with social organizations, is set to implement the Nirbhay Vidyarthi Abhiyan. Additional Commissioner of Police, Ranjan Kumar Sharma, highlighted the importance of this initiative in curbing addiction, crime, and ensuring the security of students.

 

During an interactive session with school principals and representatives of social organizations, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shashikant Borate, provided insights into the various programs that will be undertaken as part of the Nirbhay Vidyarthi Abhiyan. These include initiatives such as police kaka (uncle), police didi (sister), Damini squad, body cop, Parivartan, and collaborations with social organizations to guide and educate students.

 

As part of the program, police officers and employees were equipped with raincoats distributed by the AM Infoweb Foundation, with Dilip Kurhade overseeing the introduction. Additionally, counseling services will be provided to students through the social organization Nirbhay Mitra and Nirbhay Sakhi. Student representatives from schools and colleges will be appointed to maintain coordination and communication among students.

 

Several esteemed organizations, including Muktangan, Surajya Comprehensive Development Project, CYDA, Lok Vikas Mandal, Pune Jankalyan Trust, Sparsh Centre, Stri-Adhaar Sanstha, Mahila Kalyan Kendra, Muskan, Sarva Seva Sangh, Viti Foundation, Green Tara Foundation, and HOPE, will train representatives on vital topics related to student safety.

 

The appointed representatives will serve as a bridge between the police and the student community, offering counseling and guidance to students in their respective areas. The Pune City Police emphasized the significance of these initiatives in ensuring the well-being and safety of students, along with fostering a sense of security within the community.

 

Assistant Commissioner of Police Sanjay Patil, Deputy Director of Health Education Department Dr. Kailas Baviskar, Education Officer of Secondary Education Department of Pune Municipal Corporation Asha Ubale, Head of MM Infoweb Foundation Ali Merchant, Director of Muktangan Sanstha Mukta Puntambekar and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
