Pune Crime News | Arrest Made in Broad Daylight Burglary; Mundhwa Police Seize Rs 5 Lakh Worth of Jewelry

Pune : Pune Crime News | In a significant breakthrough, the Mundhwa Police in Pune have successfully apprehended a burglar involved in a daring daylight theft in an upscale society located on BT Kawade Road. The swift action of the police has led to the recovery of jewelry worth Rs 5 lakh. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community and raised concerns about the security of residents in elite neighborhoods.

 

According to the Pune Crime News, the incident took place on July 11, 2023, when the homeowner left their residence for personal errands. During their absence, an unidentified thief gained entry into the house and stole gold rings weighing approximately 10 tolas. The victim promptly reported the incident, leading to an investigation by the Mundhwa Police.

 

During the course of their investigation, the police interviewed the homeowner and discovered that the residence had recently undergone renovation work. Acting on this information, the police summoned and interrogated several laborers who had been involved in the renovation project. As a result, their attention turned towards Akshay Ashok Pandit, a 28-year-old resident of Sadguru Apartment on Tingrenagar Road in Vishrantwadi.

 

Following an exhaustive inquiry, Akshay Pandit confessed to the burglary. The police have successfully recovered Rs 5 lakh worth of stolen jewelry from him. This arrest serves as a testament to the dedication and efficiency of the Pune Police in addressing crimes and ensuring the safety and security of the community.

 

This successful arrest was carried out by the joint efforts of: Commissioner of Police Ritesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik, Additional Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikrant Deshmukh, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashwini Rakh under the guidance of Sr PI Vishnu Tamhane, Police Inspector (Crime) Pradeep Kakade, Assistant Police Inspector Sandeep Jore. Police Constables Dinesh Rane, Dinesh Bhandurge, Mahesh The team of Pathak, Vaibhav More, Rahul More, Sachin Patil and Swapnil Raskar have also done this feat.
