Pune Police News | Guardian Minister Patil returns stolen goods worth ₹5.75 crore to citizens
PUNE : Pune Police News | Higher and Technical Education Minister and Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil said that the police investigate all crimes with seriousness and do hard work and it is necessary for citizens to be with police and cooperate with them.
He was speaking during the programme organised by Pune city police to hand over stolen goods to their owners at the Shivaji Nagar police ground. Police commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, Addl CP Pravinkumar Patil, DCP Sandeep Singh Gill, DCP Smartana Patil, DCP Amol Zende, DCP Suhail Sharma, DCP Shashikant Borate, DCP Vikrant Deshmukh and senior officials were present.
Guardian Minister Patil said that the programme of returning stolen goods is unique and the owners of the goods get satisfaction and this also conveys a positive message about the police to the people. This also encourages police officials and staff to perform better.
Apart from making efforts to ensure that crimes are not committed, solving a crime and punishing the criminal leads to maintenance of law and order. There is a psychology behind crimes. Police officials have to work very hard to investigate crimes. Hence, well performing police officials should be congratulated.
Of late, criminals are using modern technology. Comparatively, the police are doing a good job with very limited resources. Funds of ₹100 crore will be provided through DPC and Social Commitment Fund to the police to equip them with latest weapons and for carrying out repairs of police quarters.
CP Retesh Kumaarr said it is difficult to seize goods when the crimes are bared. Police officials do this work by making a lot of efforts and the goods are returned to their owners after completing legal formalities. He said that goods worth ₹5,75 crore are being returned to their owners.
Guardian Minister Patil returned goods of 58 citizens and police officials who have performed well were given certificates. Patil presented gifts to these police officers.
