Special campaign to make Maharashtra free from railway crossing gate - Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Nine Railway crossing overbridges worth Rs. 440 crores built by MahaRail in Maharashtra were dedicated to people while foundation stone was laid for proposed 11 fly-overs and under-passes worth Rs. 700 crores by Union Minister for road transport Nitin Gadkari and chief minister Eknath Shinde. Chief minister Shinde assured that Maharashtra would be made railway gate-free by completing the work under this state-wide campaign of making the sate free from any railway crossing gate.  

Union Minister Niin Gadkari participated via video conference in this program held at Police ground a Shivaji Nagar in Pune. Pune guardian minister Chandrakant Patil, MP Shrirang Barne, MLA Sunil Kamble, MahaRail managing director Rajesh Kumar Jayaswal, PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Commissioner of Police Ritesh Kumar, district collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh and others were present.

Stating that when Union Government and the state Government join hands, good work can be accomplished, he chief minister said that unmanned railway crossings cause danger to human life which is why such campaigns of making the state free from any such crossing would be completed soon so that people would not face such trouble. He said that MahaRail was set up so that railway projects in the state are completed at much faster pace which is why for the first time nine fly-overs are being dedicated to people and at the same time foundation laying for 11 fly-overs is being done at one go for the first time. He added that these works would ultimately save people’s time.

Infrastructure development led to investment in a big way in the state

Stating that for saving on people’s time and increasing efficiency, thrust is being given on infrastructure, he said that maximum works related to infrastructure are being undertaken in Maharashtra. He added that Maharashtra has infrastructure facility, skilled manpower along with communication facilities and by deploying newer technologies infrastructure facilities are being developed. The decision making is fast to resolve issues faced during the projects in the sate which is why multi-national companies are investing in a big way in Maharashtra. He said that prosperity corridor would become development highway in real sense of the word.

Fillip to road works in Pune to prevent traffic jams

Stating that various development works are going on in the state with the cooperation from the Union Government, he said that Maharashtra has got fourth Vande Bharat train in Madgaon-Mumbai Vande Bharat train and Mumbai-Pune express way has resulted in speeding up development of Pune city. He said that to reduce the travel time on this express way, broadest tunnel is being prepared under Missing Link project between Khalapur and Sinhgad Institute. Stating that various works are being undertaken in Pune, he said that Pune Metro, Pune Ring Road and necessary work for avoiding traffic jams at Chandni Chowk are undertaken. He said that people are being provided all the services and benefits of government schemes under one roof through Government at your doorstep campaign and it is receiving very good response.

He said that a big bridge between Katraj Chowk and Khadi Machine chowk can benefit people and if Wai-Surur-Mahabaleshwar-Poladpur route ay Mahabaleshwar is undertaken by the Union Government I would help in developing and increasing tourism potential in this area.

Would accomplish Rs. 16 thousand crore projects with 11 fly-overs per year rate – Union Minister Niin Gadkari

Union Minister Gadkari said that 100 per cent funding for the 11 fly-overs being built under Setu Bandhan scheme has been sanctioned by the Union Government. Saying that Maharashtra is a progressive and prosperous state, he said that it is necessary to convert railway gates in to fly-overs for the safety of people in the state which is why the Union Government and the state Government have completed nine fly-overs and is laying foundation sone for 11 bridges. He said that these Rs. 16 thousand crore works would be completed by accomplishing 11 bridges per year and in coming days, people would be provided with good safety measures by building flyovers to get rid of railway crossing gates.

The Palakhi route work would add to glory of the state

Stating that Maharashtra was making an overall progress he said that the works related to highways and roads is done with speed and the work for Palakhi route in Pune is being done with speed. Informing that the responsibility of the work for Palakhi resting place development is accepted by the state Government, he said that these works would be completed by making a good plan so that the annual pilgrims (Warkaris) are provided with best facilities. He said that the work of Palakahi route would be completed soon and it would add to the glory of the state.

MahaRail would perform quality work

Lauding the MahaRail for good work taking in to account the railway rules, he said that under the scheme, a total of 91 bridges would be installed out of which 25 are in first phase while 66 are proposed in the second phase. He said that MahaRail has been asked to plan for these and responsibility of the work would be vested with the MahaRail. He expressed the confidence that MahaRail would accomplish these projects with quality work and said that the MahaRail which was set up by he Maharashra Government along with Railways has done good job. He pointed out that while adhering to railway rules, the work has been done in stipulated time and congratulated the officials for the same.

Nine fly-overs worth Rs. 440 crores dedicated to people

Nine fly-overs worth Rs. 440 crores installed by Maharashtra Railway Infrastructure Development Corporation were dedicated to people. Chief minister Eknath Shinde dedicated eight of these nine fly-overs installed with a partnership between PWD and the Railway ministry while Union Minister Gadkari dedicated to people fly-over built under Setu Bandhan project through Union Road funds. These include two lane fly-over at Railway crossing gate 92 between masur and Shirwade railway station on Paan-Pandharpur high-way of Central Railway, 2-lane fly-over at Railway crossing gate 20 between Rukdi and Hatkanangale stations on Aigre-Ichalkaranji high-way on Central railway, two lane fly-over at Railway crossing 81 between Rahimatpur and Targaon stations on Rahimapur-Satara Road under Centrak Railway, 2-lane fly-over at Railway crossing 136 between Amalner and Takarkhede stations on Amalner-Chopda state highway on Western Railway route, 2-way fly-over at Railway crossing 112-A between Sonshelu and Shindkheda stations on Sindkheda-Chimthana state highway on Western Railways, 2-lane fly-over at Railway crossing 144-B, between Hingoli and Dhamani stations on Hingoli-Nanded state highway on South Central Railways, 2-lane fly-over at Railway crossing 116 between Butibori and Ajani stations on Dongargaon- Gumgaon road on Central Railways, 2-lane fly-over at Railway crossing 111 between Butibori and Sidi stations on Umred-Butibori road on Central Railways and under Setu Bandhan scheme 2-lane fly-over at Railway crossing 34 beween Umred and Bhivapur stations near Umred bus sand on South East Central Railways.

Foundation laying for 11 fly-overs and underpass worth Rs. 700 crores

Union Minister Gadkari laid foundation for 11 fly-overs and underpass worth Rs. 700 crores to be installed by MahaRail under Setu Bandhan scheme. It includes 2-lane fly-over at railway crossing gate number 10 between Diva and Vasai stations on Tevdi road in Palghar district, 2-lane fly-over at railway crossing gate number 8 between Srigonda road and Belvandi stations on Srigonda-Vadgaon road in Ahmednagar district, 2-lane fly-over at railway crossing gate number 129 between Sangli and Madhavnagar stations on Budhgaon-Sangli road in Sangli district, 2-lane fly-over at railway crossing gate number 52 between Palshi and Jarandeshwar stations on Kolwadi Revdi road in Saara district,  2-lane fly-over at railway crossing gate number CH 458/5 between Solapur and Wadi stations near Aasara chowk bridge in Solapur district, 2-lane fly-over at railway crossing gate number 34 between Palsap and Kalamb Road stations on Dholi-Dharashiv road in Dharashiv district, 2-lane fly-over at railway crossing gate number 2 between Kurduwadi and Laur stations on Latur city road in Latur district,  2-lane fly-over at railway crossing gate between Shirsoli and Jalgaon stations on old National highway in Jalgaon district and 2-lane fly-over at railway crossing gate number 24 between Kurduwadi and Miraj Road stations on Pandharpur-Sangola road in Solapur district.

The foundation laying was done for the underpass near Railway crossing gate 6 between Jalamb and Khamgaon saions on Khamgaon town road in Buldhana district as well as underpass CH 98/2 between Aatgaon and Tanshet stations near Kalamgaon in Thane district
