Pune: Municipal Commissioner says will shut down malls, multiplexes, hotels violating physical distancing norms

Pune: On the backdrop of spike in the number of Covid-19 cases and on the basis of observations made, PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar has today announced that commercial establishments that do not follow physical distancing and other standard operating procedures (SOPs) measures will be forcefully shut down.
The rise is cases from 400 to 700 in the Pune district has been an eye opener for the civic authorities and they don’t want to leave any stone unturned in controlling the spread of the virus.
Apart from these spaces, special scanning provisions will be made in trains, bus stops and airports in order to ensure that the commuters who are at a high rate of spreading the virus undergo health screening  within time.
