Pune Market Yard | Sharad Pawar Urges State Government to Address Insufficient Market Yard Space in Pune

Pune : Pune News | Trade in Pune has increased and the market yard space is getting insufficient. Discussions have been held with PMRDA for its relocation. “I will insist that the state government takes a proper stand for this issue,” said NCP president Sharad Pawar on Tuesday. Pawar was speaking at the launch of the golden jubilee special issue of ‘Vanijya Vishwa’ magazine, the mouthpiece of The Poona Merchant Chamber. Two professors and eight students of BMCC were given scholarships by Pawar on behalf of the chamber.

Vitthalsheth Maniyar, entrepreneur Fattechand Ranka, Chamber President Rajendra Bathia, Secretary Raikumar Nahar, Vice President Ajit Bora, Joint Secretary Ishwar Nahar, Editor of ‘Vanijya Vishwa’ Praveen Chorbele, Joint Editor Ashish Dugad, Principal of BMCC Jagdish Lanjekar were present on this occasion. Pawar said, “Grain trade used to be in Nana Peth”. Although there was much opposition to its migration, nevertheless, we succeeded in persuading the traders and the market yard was shifted. Due to this, the trade increased manifold, said Pawar.

Apart from education, Pune is also an important center of industry and trade. Rajendra Bathia said, ‘Due to e-commerce, a big challenge has been posed to traditional trade. Farmers’ produce does not arrive in Bhusar divisions of market committees like Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik. We demand that one percent cess should not be implemented as well as market regulation to maintain the trade. Purushottami Sharma, Pradeep Lokhande, Dr. Sanjay Kandalgaonkar was honored with the ‘Vanijyaratna’ Pune Market Yard | award. Special honors were given to Adv. Subhash Kivade and Dilip Salvekar.

Praveen Chorbele, editor of ‘Vanijya Vishwa’ reviewed the progress of the magazine. Vitthalsheth Maniyar explained the purpose behind starting the scholarship. Secretary Raikumar Nahar introduced. Ishwar Nahar thanked. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also wished the golden jubilee program of ‘Vanijya Vishwa’ through a video message.
