Pune Dams Water Storage | Good news for Puneites: Significant increase in water levels in four dams

PUNE : Pune Dams Water Storage | There has been an increase in the water level in the catchment area of the dams of Khadakwasla reservoir system from where water is supplied to Pune city. The total water storage in Panshet, Varasgaon, Temghar and Khadakwasla dams was 2.76 TMC feet till 5 pm on Tuesday. Meanwhile, on Tuesday evening till 5 pm, 58 mm rain was recorded in the catchment area of Varasgaon dam by the Water Resources Department.
The monsoon has become active all over the state. It is raining since three days in the Khadakwasla reservoir system. The water storage in the four dams which supply water to Pune city was 4.16 TMC feet till 5 pm on Monday. There is a slight increase in the water level in last 24 hours. Compared to last year, the water storage is more by 1.50 TMC feet. Considering the intensity of the rain, the water level in the dams is likely to increase.
On Tuesday, the catchment area of Khadakwasla dam recorded 14 mm rain, Panshet dam 55 mm, Warsagaon dam 58 mm and Temghar dam 30 mm rain, according to the Water Resources Department.
