Pune Crime News | Youth brutally assaults IT engineer out of one sided love; Incident takes place on Burning Ghat Road in Koregaon Park

PUNE : Pune Crime News | A youth who was in love with a software engineer who was older than him, assaulted her after telling her that if she doesn’t marry him, he will not allow her to marry anyone else. The Koregaon Park police have arrested the youth.

 

The accused has been identified as Sanket Shahaji Mhaske (26), a resident of Koregaon Park. A 37-year-old resident of Yerawada has lodged a complaint (112/23) at the Koregaon Park police station. The incident took place on Burning Ghat Road in Koregaon Park on Wednesday at 7 am.

 

According to the police, the complainant works in a company at Kharadi and she is a divorcee. She had got acquainted with Sanket Mhaske a couple of months ago. She had also made friendship with another youth. Meanwhile, her former husband had come in contact with her. Sanket Mhaske told her a month ago that he loved her but she had told him that she could only be his friend. She had also blocked his number. After some days, she unblocked him. The complainant had come to meet her friend on Burning Ghat Road at 7 am on Wednesday. Sanket came in an autorickshaw and caught the complainant from behind. He told her, “Why don’t you meet me? I love you. If you cannot be mine, I will not allow you to marry anyone else.” He abused her and hit her hand with a wooden stick. After she fell, he hit her on her head and tried to kill her. After Sanket saw that she was bleeding, he disappeared.

 

 

The complainant is being treated in a private hospital. PSI Varale is probing the case.
The Koregaon Park police have arrested the accused Sanket Shahaji Mhaske. DCP Smartana Patil, ACP NR Raje, Sr PI Neelima Pawar and other police officials have visited the spot.
