Pune Crime News | Student blackmails professor; Records obscene video and demands US $5,000
PUNE : Pune Crime News | An incident has come to light wherein a woman professor was threatened via a WhatsApp call that she would be defamed and her pornographic videos were shot. The video was made viral and US $5,000 was demanded from her.
The Hadapsar police have registered an FIR against Mayank Singh (26), a resident of Patna. A 36-year-old professor from Manjari has lodged a complaint (924/23) at the Hadapsar police station. The incident was going on from March 2020.
According to the police, the complainant works as a professor in a college. Mayank Singh from the university contacted her through Instagram. He made a WhatsApp call to her and threatened her that he will malign her reputation if she does not listen to him. He forced her to remove her clothes and recorded a video. He made the video call viral on Instagram.
Later, he made several audio and video calls to the complainant from a different ID. He sent nude videos of the complainant to her and her husband from a different ID on Instagram and demanded US $5,000 from her. The accused threatened them that he will send her nude videos everywhere. After the complainant’s husband came to know about this, he approached the police. PSI Gandhale is probing the case.
