Pune Crime News | Journalist attack case: Crime Branch takes action in Bengaluru by arresting sharp shooter Shreyas Mate
PUNE : Pune Crime News | The incident of a journalist being shot at in an attempt to kill him by taking a contract (supari) over a land dispute, has now taken a serious turn. A team of the Crime Branch has taken action in Bengaluru and apprehended sharp shooter Shreyas Mate (21).
Two days ago, DCP Smartana Patil held a press conference and gave the information. Thirteen people have been apprehended in connection with the case and they include seven minors. Six others have been arrested. DCP Patil had informed that a contract was given for committing a murder. After Mate’s arrest, information about who had given the contract for how many rupees will be known.
The Swargate police have arrested six people for firing at a journalist working with a local newspaper. Seven minors where apprehended at the same time.
The complainant does not own any land but he has ancestral land in Dhayari. A dispute is going on about the land. When the complainant was going home from Maharshi Nagar on May 27 night, the accused who were travelling on a two-wheeler threw chilli powder in his eyes and threatened to kill him. The complainant had lodged a complaint. On June 11, when he was going home on a two-wheeler, five people travelling on three two-wheelers chased him and fired at him. Fortunately, since the complaint bent down, he was unhurt. The Crime Branch started investigating the case after the new twist in the case.
The Swargate police had earlier arrested Prathamesh alias Shambhu Dhananjay Tonde (20), a resident of Dattawadi and Abhishek Shivaji Rokde (22), a resident of Nanded Gaon were arrested. Later, 13 people including some minors were arrested. From the information available from him, the police apprehended Shreyas Mate from Bengaluru. An FIR of attempted murder is registered against Mate at the Haveli police station.
When Rupesh Pasalkar was talking to his friends, Shreyas Mate and his two aides came there and they assaulted with a sickle and tried to kill him. The Haveli police had arrested him.
