Pune Crime News | Sinhagad Road police arrest two in kidnapping case

Pune Crime News : Two persons from Kolhapur were arrested by Sinhagad Road police in a kidnap case. The accused kidnapped two persons and demanded Rs 10 lakh from their acquaintance.

The arrests were made within two hours of lodging the complaint.

One of the kidnapped was not involved in the deal was an acquaintance of the other kidnapped person.

The arrested persons have been identified as Avinash Pandurang Patil (31) and Uttam Turambekar (31), both residents of Beknala, Gadhinglaj, Kolhapur.

 Nikhil Uday Gurav had filed a complaint with the Sinhagad police in this regard.

Gurav stays with Prabhat Todkar at Narhe Ambegaon. They are all residents of Gadhinglaj. The accused had given Rs 10 lakh to their relative Sandip Patil. In lieu of the sum, Sandip Patil had mortgaged his house. Patil was not returning the money and the accused did not know the address of his house in Pune. Hence, they threatened Ajit Raut, who was Patil’s acquaintance, to tell the address of Patil’s house.

They kidnapped Prabhat Todkar and Ajit Raut on Monday. They attacked these two for taking them to Sandip Patil’s house. They demanded Rs 10 lakh from Nikhil Gurav, failing which they threatened to kill Todkar and Raut. Gurav immediately contacted Senior PI Devidas Ghevare. API Prashant Kanse, PSI Amol Kale, Nitin Jadhav, Kuldip Sankapal and others, along with Ghevare, searched for the accused. They took the complainant in a private car. The accused called them to Wakad bridge to hand over money. The complainant told the accused that he would hand over the money near the bridge. The police laid a trap.

The accused tried to run away in the wee hours of Tuesday after seeing the police. However, they were nabbed. They had beaten and injured Todkar and Raut badly.
