Pune Crime News | Criminal escapes from Howrah-Pune Duronto Express by giving a slip to the police

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Crime News | A criminal who was being escorted by the Pune police in the Howrah-Pune Duronto Express, ran away by giving them a slip between Nagpur and Butibori stations. The accused has been identified as Sanjay Tapankumar Jana, a resident of West Bengal. (Pune Crime News)

An FIR of cheating was registered at the Faraskhana police station on May 6. Sanjaya Jana and Saurabh Prasannajit Maiti were working as labourers for a businessman who used to make ornaments. Both labourers had disappeared with 381 gm gold which had been given to them for making ornaments. A team of Pune police had gone to West Bengal to arrest them. The team arrested Jana and was bringing him to Pune by Howrah-Pune Duronto Express in B8 coach.

On Friday afternoon, Jana told the police that he wanted to go to the toilet. The police took him to the toilet. Since Jana did not come out for a long time, the police had a suspicion and they opened the door. They realised that Jana had escaped after breaking the glass of the window. An FIR had been registered at the Nagpur railway police.
