Matka king Sanjay Patole shot dead in Shirval
Pune/Satara : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | The matka king of Katraj area has been killed in Shirval. The matka operator has been identified as Sanjay Subhash Patole (36), a resident of Bibvewadi. The incident took place at Lake Palace building in Phulmala area of Shirval in Khandala taluka on Sunday at 6 pm.
The Shirval police have detained a person on suspicion. According to the police, Sanjay Patole was famous as matka king. He left his residence in Pune at 7 am on Sunday by saying that he had some important work. There was another person with him. A woman resident of Lake Palace building in Shirval went to the terrace at 6 p.m. She saw that a person was lying in a pool of blood. She informed her husband. Senior police inspector Navnath Madne of Shirval police station and his colleagues rushed to the spot. An Aadhaar card was found in the pocket of the deceased.
The person was identified as Sanjay Patole who was a matka operator in Pune. Patole’s car was parked outside the building. Patole’s relatives reached Shirval after they were informed. SP Ajaykumar Bansal visited the spot and the police have arrested a person on suspicion.
The police said that Lake Palace is an old building and all flats are occupied. Patole’s car was parked outside the building. Patole did not know anyone in the building. Someone took him to the terrace and shot at him from close range from a coutrymade pistol, the preliminary investigation has revealed. Further investigation is going on.
