Pune Crime Branch busts sex racket at Amantra Spa in Viman Nagar

Pune: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Three foreigner women were rescued from the flesh trade illegally operating under the garb of Thai massage at well-known Amantra Spa in upmarket Viman Nagar on Thursday evening. Police have arrested two managers in the case.

Acting on a tip-off received by ACP (crime 2) Bhanupratap Barge, a team led by Police Inspector Manisha Zende of the social security cell (SSC) raided the spa around 7 pm Thursday. Police rescued three women hailing from Thailand. An FIR has been registered with Vimantal police station against spa managers Amar Ramrao Dhumal (27) of Mundhwa and Tushar Ashok Bansode (28) of Vadgaosheri.

According to police, the accused persons had hired the women as a therapist and then forced them in a prostitution racket. The women have been kept at a shelter home in Hadapsar.

Investigation team included Assistant Police Inspector Anita Khedkar, Ashwini Jagtap, and Rajaram Ghogare, Rajendra Kachre, Pramod Mhetre, Nitin Tarte, Nitin Telange, Tushar Alhat, Rajendra Nanaware, Nilesh Palwe, Nanita Yele, Kavita Nalawade, Geetanjali Jadhav and Rupali Chandgude.
