Professor recruitment to start from next week, recruitment of 3074 professors in first phase

Mumbai : The state government has taken an important decision to start the recruitment process of professors which has been stalled due to corona. The first phase will start from next week in which 3074 professors will be recruited. In addition, the state government has approved recruitment of librarians for 121 posts and other recruitment for 659 posts in universities.

The agitation for the recruitment of professors had started from the 21st on behalf of the NET SET PhD Holders Struggle Committee outside the office of the Director of Higher Technical Education in Pune. Some agitations will also take place in the month of July. This movement has the support of various organizations. The protesters have demanded early recruitment of professors and announcement of equal pay policy by discontinuing monthly allowances.

Against the backdrop of the agitation, Uday Samant, the state’s high and technology minister, had met the agitators in Pune on Saturday along with senior officials of the education department and had promised to recruit professors soon. After that, the professor withdrew the agitation in Pune.

Now the announcement of the state government has paved the way for the recruitment of professors. The state government had not taken any decision to recruit professors because of Corona.
