Pimpri Chinchwad Crime | Conspiracy to kill former NCP corporator Shekhar Ovhal; Three arrested with pistols
PIMPRI : Pimpri Chinchwad Crime | The Anti-Dacoity Cell of the Crime Branch arrested two men who were preparing to avenge the murder of Kishor Aware and seized four pistols from them. Later, the Anti-Extortion Cell arrested three men for hatching the conspiracy to kill former NCP corporator Shekhar Ovhal of Punvale. The police have seized a pistol and live cartridges from them. Senior police officials have praised the two teams for taking prompt action.
The accused have been identified as Kishor Bapu Bhosle (31), a resident of Punavale, Amit Dattatray Patule (23), a resident of Ravet and Amol alias Dhanjya Gajanan Gorgale (34), a resident of Punavale Gaothan.
According to information given by Sr PI Arvind Pawar, Police Naik Ashish Botke and Pradeep Godambe got the information that notorious criminals Kishore Bhosle and Amit Patole were going to visit the crematorium at Punavale with an intention to commit a serious crime and they were carrying a pistol.
They were apprehended and a country-made pistol and two live cartridges were seized from them. They told the police that they had procured the pistol from Raviraj alias Kannadya Rajendra Kedar on the advice of accused Gorgale. Accordingly, Gorgale was arrested. When they were asked why they had purchased the pistol, they said they had an argument with Shekhar Ovhal and wanted to kill him. Their admission has created ripples in political and police circles.
Two days ago, the Anti-Dacoity Cell arrested Pramod Sopan Sandbhor (33), a resident of Talegaon Dabhade and Sharad Murlidhar Salve (30), a resident of Kalewadi and seized four pistols from them. Since the accused were close to the deceased Kishor Aware, they had hatched a plan to avenge his death, it is being said.
