With the concept of ‘Palak Shala’ a school for parents, is the latest initiative launched by Pune base school where the parent stepped in the shoe of their children.
The inaugural session of programme saw an attendance of over 100 enthusiatic parents, who lauded the school for this unique venture. This Palak Shala will go a long way to bridge the gap between the school and home. It will foster better family-school relationship’ and meaningful dialogues will bring about a feeling of oneness and enrich our wards learning experiences’ were the heartening comments of the attendees.

Such initiative had took place in Muktangan English School and Junior College’s Pre-Primary section. The school has always taken led in introducing innovative programmes to provide quality education and ‘Palak Shala” is one such project.
“It is our firm conviction that the best in the children can be brought out when there is the desired co-operation between school and parents”, said Utkarsha Keni, Principal of Pre-primary and Primary section.

On the every first Saturday of each month, parents of pre-Primary section shall turn ‘students’ and attend sessions in good parenting, learn teaching and counseling techniques, how to deal with behavioral problems and so on. “ We also plan to have interactive sessions and guest lectures by doctors, dieticians and counselors to ensure that our pupils begin their initial years of schooling on a positive note and inturn help in their holistic development,” stated the school co-ordinator Nutan Neurgaonkar.
We are overwhelmed by encouraging the response of our parents as the onset of our initiative added vice-principal Hemangini Inamdar.
Principal Utkarsha Keni, Co-Ordinator Nutan Neurgaonkar and Vice-Principal Hemangini Inamdar are the guiding force behind this initiative.
A team of experienced and talented teachers Jayashree Dayama, . Jaya Shetty, Meenal Gadre, Meghana Kulkarni, Girija Washikar, Deepali Padhye, Pranjali Kaduskar, Gayatri Naik and Anagha Muley and school counselor Madhura Kale are working to ensure the success of the programme.
