Nigadi police bust inter-state fake currency racket, 6 held with Rs 32.69 lakh in counterfeit notes
npnews24 – Nigadi police recently arrested six persons who were allegedly involved in fake currency racket and seized counterfeit currency notes worth ₹35.54 lakh from them.
Police raided the residences of accused persons in various locations from Satara, Pandharpur, Mumbai, and Gujarat. Police have seized a laptop and color printer along with fake currency notes from them.
The arrested accused have been identified as Gorakh Dattatray Pawar (30) resident of Malvani- Pandharpur, Vitthal Gajanan Shewale (38) Dhebewadi Satara. Jitendra Ranknidhi Panigrahi (36) resident of Nalasopara, Palghar, Raju alias Ranjitsingh Fatubha Parmar (38) resident of Botad, Gujrat, Jitendrakumar Natwarbhai Patel (26) and Kirankumar Kantilala Patel (38) both resident of Palanpur, Gujrat.
Police have recovered 1402 fake currency notes of denomination Rs 2000 and 929 counterfeit notes of denomination Rs 500.
According to police, acting on a tip-off the Nigadi police arrested Gorakh Dattatray Pawar from the Nigadi area and recovered fake currency notes from him.

Police rechecked the currency notes from banks which turned out to be fake once.
When inquired, Pawar shared the source of the notes. Based on the information, Nigadi police formed a team and arrested Vitthal Shewale from Satara.
Further investigation revealed that they have procured the notes from Jitendra Panigrahi based in Nalasopara Mumbai. When Police reached Mumbai they got to know that the Anti-Terrorist Squad of Mumbai Police has already arrested the accused in a counterfeit note scam. Nigadi police then made an arrest and brought him to Pune.
When the team connected the dot and further inquiry revealed that the source of the counterfeit currency notes is in Gujrat. Acting on the tip immediately, the Nigadi police team reached Gujrat and arrested Raj Parmar, Jitendra Patel, and Kirankumar Patel from the Gujrat.
The Nigadi police team tirelessly worked for 14 days to bust the racket.
