Mumbai Crime News : Ola cab driver’s body found in Mumbai’s Khandala forest area

Mumbai : The 45-year-old Ola cab driver, a resident of Sahakar Nagar, was missing since June 19. Now, his body was found in a rotten condition in the forest of Khandala campus on Sunday. Khandala Police has registered a case of accidental death in this case. The dead body has been sent for post-mortem. Now the police is investigating whether it is murder or suicide?

On June 19, a youth named Rahul Kumar Jha (age 22) had lodged a complaint of kidnapping of his father Santosh Jha (age 45) at Virar police station. His Ola car was seized from Kolhapur in the evening of the same day. After the police found a blood stain on the back of the car, two teams were formed to investigate it. Two teams of police started searching for Santosh Jha in the dense forest near the bridge in Khandala area. Information about bank transactions done using his card has come to light at a petrol pump in the same premises. After this, the police arrested two real brothers of Kandivali who kidnapped through a mobile. The police team had found a rotten body in the dense forest of Khandala, but the police were unable to identify the body.

Police have sent the body for post-mortem. The doctor said that the condition of the dead body is very bad. The body was identified after matching the DNA of the son and the father. Later the son performed the last rites of the father.

According to information received from police sources, two real brothers of Kandivali in Mumbai had booked an Ola cab on June 17 to go to a village in Karnataka. It is being said that they had kidnapped Santosh. The car was brought to Panvel, Khopoli and later it was left in the Khandala forest area. Police suspect that the accused killed Santosh Jha and threw him in the dense forest of Khandala. On the basis of CCTV, both the brothers have been taken into custody from Kandivali.
