MNS leader slammed CM over missing girls’ issue

… otherwise the woman will ‘disappear’ to the Chief Minister: MNS general secretary

MUMBAI: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – When there is an increase in the number missing cases of women and girls from Mumbai, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s (MNS’) general secretary Shalini Thackeray has targeted Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

“The women from the state considers the Chief Minister as their brother. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, these women used to tie Rakhi to CM every year. But now, Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis have also forgotten their relationship and position. In order to search for missing girls, a special action team should be formed, otherwise the women of states will ‘disappear’ to the Chief Minister”, said Shalini Thackeray.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had presented the statistic, while giving a written reply to the question raised by BJP MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha and other MLAs in the Legislative Assembly. According to this, more than 26,000 girls and women were missing from Mumbai since 2013, and are still not found.

Shalini Thackeray has criticized Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis after giving this data and said, “No one knows where these 26,000 girls and women who have went missing are. So, what can be more shameful than this?”

If women and girls are disappearing in such a manner, what would it really mean? Is there a human trafficking gang working behind it? If the police force is unable to find the missing girls after four or five years, then, why is the State Women Commission is not taking a serious note on this matter?, such kind of questions are raised by her.

Is it ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’….?

How can State Women Commission as well as CM be unaware about this issue when Maharashtra state is becoming the aggressor of human trafficking in country.

According to a report of the Transforming Exploitation and Saving Through Association (TESTA), working against human trafficking, the highest number of crimes related to human trafficking has been registered in Nagpur.

As per TESTA, the cases of selling women and girls has been taking place in Nagpur as well in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Odisha since long. Such kind of incidents are taking place when BJP government is busy promoting the campaign of  ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’.
